Let's be honest, if you are in a relationship there is literally thousands of soppy and gooey movies to make yourself feel even greater this Valentine's Day. So you don't need me to point them out for you but here is my rundown of films to watch for singles this February 14th.
Carnage: Still only in cinemas at the moment but what could be better than looking at two couples argue over their children's behaviour and then begin to turn on each other. A look at the harder side (the bit they don't tell you about at the wedding) of marriage.
2012: What could be better than the world ending so you don't have to worry about being alone? If Tsunami's rage over land so that most of the world is deep under water then you Valentine's Day is the last thing on your mind........except maybe the being alone at the end, I haven't thought this through.
American Beauty: A dysfunctional family and a mid-life crisis are all too familiar so revel in Spacey's great performance as things begin to unravel with his materialistic wife. As things go from bad to worse for him you can just sit back and soak it up.
The St. Valentine's Day Massacre: Alone on valentine's day? At least you aren't being killed in cold blood at the orders of ruthless gang leader Al Capone. I admit this one might be a stretch!
(In honesty there is a lot of fiction with this film so would honestly recommend a book on the subject for accuracy)
Titanic: I think everybody in the world has now seen Titanic so we all know how unrealistically romantic it tries to be and that 3 hours of this is enough to stretch anyones patience. What better advertisement for love and sacrifice than dying of the cold in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean?
If none of these movies work in making you feel better then just think about the money saved on gifts and cards.
