Based on the novel by Paul Torday, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is about a sheikh who believes he can bring the pastime of Salmon Fishing to the highlands of Yemen to help improve the lives of it's people. One of the many obstacles being the not so friendly desert surronding. The film stars Emily Blunt and Ewan McGregor and is directed by Lasse Hallstrom (Cider House Rules and Chocolat).

The film is a British romantic comedy with Blunt and McGregor obviously being the love interest whilst they fight against all sorts of problems to bring Salmon to the deserts of Yemen. Naturally they have to fight all sorts of people telling them that this dream is absured and impossible but they also find that success isn't always easier to deal with.
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is released on Friday 20th April 2012 and the trailer is embedded below:
