Ridley Scott returns with a prequel to the Alien franchise called Prometheus, despite being the story that precedes Alien it will not be directly connected to them. With the huge success of the Alien franchise, especially the first two films, the pressure is on for this film to live up to the high standard. Scott has already said that a sequel could be possibly due to unanswered question arising from this film.
In the late 21st century, two superpowers control earth that are fighting for the solar systems natural resources which causes one to try and colonize a planet for humans. On further investigation they realise that the planet is home to bio-mechanoid killers that threaten the existence of the enture human race.
